DNA Paternity Test for the
Deceased Alleged Father.
In cases where the alleged
father is deceaased, the Medical
Examiner's Office or the Coroner
may be able to provide a blood
sample or a tissue sample from
the deceased individual.
Alternatively, the Medical
Examiner or the Coroner, may be
able to provide blood stain or a
blood stain card that was
collected from the deceased alleged father. Such a blood stain card collected from the deceased
individual is an ideal sample
for a DNA paternity
test. If the deceased
alleged father was hospitalized
prior to his death, it is
possible that the hospital has a
stored blood sample, a
formaldehyde fixed tissue, or a
paraffin block of tissue that
was collected in the
hospital.
Genetica DNA Laboratories can
test these hospital, Medical Examiner, or Coroner samples to
obtain DNA profile of the
deceased alleged father, while a
buccal swab sample is used to
test the child in a DNA
paternity test.
Family Reconstruction DNA Test -
The GENETICA DNA Test™
In cases where the deceased alleged
father's sample is not available or in cases where the alleged father is missing, a
Family Reconstruction DNA test
may be performed. Such DNA
testing is possible because the
genes of the deceased or missing
alleged father are present in
his known biological family
members (i.e., his parents, his
siblings, his known children).
The GENETICA DNA Test™ for
Family Reconstruction is the
most extensive and accurate
Family Reconstruction DNA test
available.
The Family Reconstruction DNA
test can prove conclusively that
the reconstructed man is NOT the
true father of the child. Such
Family Reconstruction DNA test,
however, requires that a
sufficient number of family
members with known relationship
to the deceased or missing
alleged father are available for
DNA testing. Contact our
laboratory for a case specific
consultation.
The Family Reconstruction DNA
test can provide greater than
99.99% probability of paternity.
Such probability of paternity
can be reached only if a
sufficient number of family
members with known relationship
to the deceased or missing
alleged father are available for
DNA testing. Contact our
laboratory for a case specific
consultation.
